Looking for a chance to support public education in our community and enjoy a libation?
 
The Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation will host a beer and wine tasting event, A Taste of Knowledge, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at the Golf Course Community Room and patio.
 
Participants will sample a wide variety of specially selected wines and beers, choosing any combination of eight tastes from among 12 offerings and some delicious appetizers to accompany them.
 
All proceeds from the event benefit the Great Ideas Grants available to school district classroom teachers each fall and spring from the LAPS Foundation.
 
“The hope is that our community will come out to support our teachers at this unique event,” Executive Director Joanna Gillespie said. “Those who dedicate themselves to educating the children of community are so deserving of the classroom grants we fund through the generosity of our donors.”
 
The LAPS Foundation has been funding these grants since 2008, to learn more about the Foundation visit their website. A Taste of Knowledge tickets for Los Alamos Public School employee are $20 and community members are $45 and designated drivers attend for half price.
 
Those interested are encouraged to make a reservation by texting their full name and desired number of tickets to 505.490.0667 or e-mailing their full name, cell phone number and desired number of tickets to k.roach@laschools.net. Using either of these options, tickets will be ready and waiting at “will call”.
