Taos School of Music Executive Director Kathleen Anderson Knox has announced auditions for Young Artist positions in the prestigious summer chamber music program.
Approximately 150 of the most accomplished young classically trained musicians will audition for the coveted 19 slots. Robert McDonald will conduct piano interviews in New York City Jan. 25-26; Borromeo String Quartet hears string auditions in New York City Jan. 29-30 and Boston Jan. 27. Applicants will be notified no later than March 15.
This year’s season will run June 22-Aug. 10. Guest artists include the Borromeo String Quartet, the Brentano String Quartet, and the Miro Quartet. Pianists Robert McDonald and Thomas Sauer and violist Michael Tree, founding member of the Guarnari String Quartet, will also perform.
Founded by Taos rancher and amateur cellist Chilton Anderson, 2014 marks the school’s 52nd season. Season and audition details are available at www.taosschoolofmusic.com.
