Taos Ranked In Top Trending Ski Destinations In U.S.

TAOS The Town of Taos has announce that it is the top trending ski destination in the U.S. according to a recent report from travel search and booking engine KAYAK.
 
The list ranked U.S. and Canadian destinations based on year-over-year increase in searches.
 
Taos’ 27 percent increase in searches landed it the top U.S. spot and the #3 spot in all of North America, behind Banff and Quebec City, Canada. Other U.S. destinations on the list included Big Sky, Montana, Stowe, Virginia, Jay, Vermont and Breckenridge, Colorado. In addition to the ranking, KAYAK provided tips for skiiers coming to the area.
 
“Kachina Peak’s Main Street trail is considered the mountain’s easiest double-black diamond,” reads the listing. “If the long, steep lift ride leaves you intimidated, no worries. There are many easy ways out to other trails.”
 
This news comes shortly after Taos was ranked one of the coolest towns in America by nationwide travel outlet Matador Network.
 
“It is very exciting to see Taos continually recognized as a top destination to visit,” said Karina Armijo, Director of Marketing and Tourism for the Town of Taos. “We are very much looking forward to a great winter filled with new visitors.”
 
Over the past year, Taos Ski Valley has become the world’s first ski resort to become a certified B Corporation, indicating that it meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance and sustainability, and now offers direct flights to and from Austin and Dallas, Texas on the brand new Taos Air.
 
The Ski Valley’s season begins Nov. 22.
