Taos Electric Vehicle Expo Sept. 8

TEVE News:
On behalf of Renewable Taos, we are pleased to announce the 2018 Taos Electric Vehicle Expo from noon to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8.
The Taos EV Expo will be held at the UNM-Taos Bataan Hall with indoor and outdoor exhibits. We are organizing this event in coordination with Michael Hearne’s Big Barn Dance – a fabulously popular three-day music event at the Kit Carson Park and Stage here in Taos. For all the details, visit TaosEVExpo.org.
This is a great opportunity to see and learn about the rapid growth and demand for electric vehicles of all types – cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and other sport electric rides. We have a full afternoon schedule of speakers and exhibits including the latest electric vehicles from dealerships, related technology such as charging stations, info about off-grid living, and much more. We expect to draw visitors and attendees from southern Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas, and much of New Mexico. A press release and postcard are attached for additional information.
Curious about electric vehicles? Come find out more about them, including such topics as:
  • How far can I go in an electric car before it has to be charged again?
  • Is it true that it can be fully operated in and around town without the need of a charging station, simply by charging the vehicle at home every night while you sleep?
  • How much will my electric bill go up by charging my vehicle overnight?
  • Do they accelerate as quickly as a gas-powered car?
  • Is it true that an electric car pays for itself over time in savings on gasoline and oil changes, when compared to a gas-powered car?
  • Is the maintenance needed lower than that of a gas-powered car?
  • What does it feel like, and sound like, to drive one?
Join us to discover just how practical these vehicles are, how necessary they are to keep our Taos air clean, and what Renewable Taos is doing to promote the installation of charging stations and electric vehicle use in Taos and northern New Mexico.
We are reaching out to all who have electric transportation of all sorts — this is an invitation bring your EV and proudly be a part of the first Taos EV Expo. We have plenty of exhibit space!
If you are unable to attend, be sure to ask dealerships in your area about electric vehicles – and test drive one! The EV wave is coming soon. All major auto manufacturers are introducing electric cars in the next year or two with 200-300 or more mileage range. Don’t forget about electric bicycles – wow are they fun!
The Taos EV Expo is sponsored by RenewableTaos, a 501c(3) non-profit organization promoting renewable energy throughout the southern Rocky Mountain states. Visit RenewableTaos.org for more information.
