The Diabetes Support Group is open to anyone who has diabetes, including family, friends and others in a supporting role. Participants can learn more about diabetes, or reinforce what they already know.

The purpose of the Diabetes Support Group is to help those dealing with diabetes live with and manage their chronic condition. It also wants to attract people who would like emotional support for living with diabetes, as well as those who would like to learn some strategies for managing diabetes. Each support group meeting is topic oriented and members discuss the topic and related issues during the meeting.

The Los Alamos Cooperative Extension Service (LACES) sponsors this free Diabetes Support Group. Mary Beugelsdijk, certified diabetes educator, and Paula Roybal Sánchez, extension home economist, provide leadership to the group.

For more information, contact Paula Roybal Sánchez at the Los Alamos Cooperative Extension Service, 505.662.2656 or paulas@nmsu.edu. No registration is required.
