Mountain Capital Partners Becomes Majority Owner Of Largest Ski Resort In The Americas

DURANGO, Colo. — Mountain Capital Partners (MCP) and Chilean resort Valle Nevado announced that MCP has completed its purchase of the largest ski resort in the Americas.

Valle Nevado general manager Ricardo Margulis said the closing is “one of the most important milestones in Valle Nevado’s history.”

Spring runoff from the melting snowpack took off with a bang last week. Streamflows increased dramatically in rivers throughout Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.

The Jemez River drew the most attention and is a good example of how quickly conditions can change. It was flowing April 4 at 121 cubic-feet-per-second, which was near normal. The Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers hosted the Española Sundevils Saturday for a district doubleheader at Overlook Park in White Rock.

The Hilltoppers dominated both games, with a final score of 12-2 in the first game and 11-2 in the second  – improving their district record to 7-1.

The Team is on the road today for a non-district game at 3 p.m. against Bernalillo.
