Marlan Lyle Shepard, 88, died May 19, 2018, in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

He was born on November 26, 1929, to Gertrude Forrest Replogle Shepard and Elmer Shepard in Sidney, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Norman Lee Shepard, and sister-in-law Alice Shepard. Marlan is survived by his wife Jody, two sons David and John, granddaughter Delila E. Cuevas, grandson-in-law Cesar Cuevas, and his nephew Christopher Lee Shepard and his family.

Marlan was graduated from Miami University at Oxford, Ohio, and Oregon State

Mrs. Minette May Swift of White Rock, New Mexico went to her Savior on May 8, 2018 at the age of 79.

Minette was born to Frances and William Martin on July 11, 1938 in St Louis, MO, the youngest of four children. Her father died after an illness in 1939. In 1948 she moved to Denver, CO with her family, including her adoptive father, Wilfred Barteau.

J. W. “Bill” Schultz passed away on Friday, May 18th after a long illness, surrounded by his loved ones.

Bill was born on May 15, 1929, in Madison, WI, the only child of Gustave and Alice Schultz. His childhood was spent in Madison, WI and Newburgh, NY.  In March, 1943, he moved with his family to Los Alamos, NM where his father had been asked to work with the Manhattan Project. In 1947 he graduated, in a class of 20 Seniors, from Los Alamos High School where he made many lifelong friends.

Roger London,77, was born in Morgan, Utah on January 27, 1941 to Glenna and Jay London. He died peacefully on May 13, 2018 from complications of pancreatitis, with his family and friends beside him.

Roger started working at LANL as a summer student in 1960 in the explosives division. He remained in that division for 38 years. Roger was a tech, an Assoc. Group Leader and a Group Leader. He worked on the original PHERMEX and was also a team leader for the Armor/Anti-Armor program in 1989, a job he was especially proud of.

John “Jack” Gosling, age 79, died May 10, 2018.

Jack was born July 10, 1938 in Akron, Ohio to Arthur Warrington and Wilhelmina Bell Gosling, and spent the early years of his life there with sister Elizabeth Ann, brother Arthur, and a slew of young school and neighborhood friends. A 1956 graduate of Buchtel High School in Akron, Jack lettered in basketball, track, and cross country.

He graduated magna cum laude from Ohio University in 1960 with a major in physics. He was selected for Phi Beta Kappa and won the A. A.

Phyllis Benzel Line Norman was born October 25, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. She was predeceased by her parents Philip James Line and Rose Mary Benzel Line, husband of sixty years Lester Ralph Norman and her dog Gracie.

At the time of her death, she was 93, still lived on her own with a sharp mind, did her own grocery shopping and drove her car. She died peacefully in her sleep. When she was 87, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. She declined chemotherapy and radiation, and she was put on hospice.

Dwight Hall Ray, 84, passed away April 19, 2018 as a result of complications from heart surgery in Phoenix, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his Father Otho Basil Ray; Mother Alice Dean Ray, Brothers Julius Ray, wife Ida, and O. B. Ray, wife Maxine. Dwight was born in Webster County, Kentucky and later moved to Evansville, Indiana.

After graduating from high school, he went to work at Servel, Inc. Then he joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Midway Aircraft carrier.

Mary Jordan passed away peacefully on May 1st, surrounded by family, and following a battle with cancer.

In recent years, Mary served as a home health aide for several people in Los Alamos and White Rock and is remembered fondly for her loving and no-nonsense attitude with those in her care.

Mary was trained as a Stephen Minister at Trinity on the Hill and was well-loved as a cook and server for TOTH’s Friday Lunch program. She had earned her massage therapy certificate at Northern New Mexico Community College.

Jerry was a ​team leader and technical staff member for the Chemical Process Development Team in the Applied Engineering Technology Group in the Engineering Sciences and Applications Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

She was born on August 13, 1924 to Elizabeth Bissell and George Williamson in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Her early years were spent in New Mexico, Connecticut, Maine and New York. Rosie was one of four children. Her three sisters were Yvonne Foster (deceased), and two half sisters, Karen Howorth of Homer, Alaska and Mary Osborn of San Antonio, Texas.

Edward Charles Sayre (Ed) died April 17, 2018 at Rio Rancho, New Mexico. He was 94 and had been in declining health for several years. He had been a resident of Los Alamos since April 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hoy Sayre, who lives in Rio Rancho; they were married June 9, 1951. He is also survived by his son, Steven Sayre of Washington, D.C. and his daughter Sabrina Sayre of San Francisco, in addition to two grandchildren.

Ed had two careers. He served in the military, primarily as a USAF officer, for a little over twenty years.

Eikleberry, age 87, passed away March 9, 2018 after a long illness. Her last hours were spent comfortably with her daughters and granddaughters, listening to stories and singing along with favorite show tunes, in particular, “Oh What a Beautiful Morning” from Oklahoma.

Fran has spent most of her adult life raising her 4 children in Jemez Springs NM. She also did bookkeeping for and assisted her husband in managing the Jemez Springs Domestic Water Co-op, her husband’s business, J&J Trenching and Excavating and was a remarkable seamstress. In her younger years she loved riding horses, barrel racing, rodeo, and being the cook for the Baca Land & Cattle Company on the Valle Grande.

He was born on October 28, 1953, at Ft. Lawton Army Hospital in Seattle, Washington. His first few years were spent in Fort Collins, Colorado, while his father Edwin (Ed) Eaton was a student at Colorado State University. In 1957, the family moved to Circleville, Ohio, where Ed was employed at the Dupont Mylar film plant. Bill completed all of his elementary school years in Circleville.
