PAC 8 is offering a “Drone Flying and Videography” class over Spring Break 9 a.m. to noon March 28-31, for students aged 13-18.
The class will be taught by Award Winning Director David Daniel and FAA Certified Remote Pilot Jean Gindreau. Students will learn drone safety and regulation, flying skills, flight maneuvers, how to capture film quality drone footage and basic video editing of footage in this course.

SANTA FE — The Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) announces that the U.S. Department of the Interior will distribute $2,829,000 to New Mexico to remediate abandoned mines in the state for federal fiscal year 2023.
The grant, distributed by the federal Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement, is for a term of three years, and is a result of congress re-authorizing the fee on coal production to pay for abandoned mine cleanup.

County: Canyon Rim Trail Partial Closure March 14-18
COUNTY News:
Contractors for Qualcon Builders (Canyon Walk Apartments) will be placing rock along the southside of the Canyon Rim Trail between DP Road and the DP Canyon Bridge.
Work will take place 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18.
During this activity, the southside of the trail will be closed intermittently when the rock is being placed by a small piece of equipment. Contractor employees (flaggers) will be on site to direct trail users safely through the work area during these times.
