Robert Aitken, a Los Alamos National Laboratory employee, has earned a Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) certificate.

BCSP awards this certification to individuals who meet eligibility and experience criteria in the safety, health and environmental discipline and have passed an examination.

Certificate recipients must recertify every five years to maintain certification, ensuring they remain knowledgeable in their practice.

NNMC Resolves Dispute Over Dormitory Development

NNMC News:

Española — Northern New Mexico College has resolved a lawsuit over the development of dormitories on the College campus.

The College agreed to pay a developer $126,500 to settle the developer’s claims for unpaid invoices. The agreement completely resolves all issues between Northern and the developer. Northern’s President Rick Bailey said that the College “obtained an advantageous settlement of the dispute, and we are pleased to put it behind us.”

Scholarship funds are available through the generosity of the John and Willie Mae Helm Scholarship Fund and the Los Alamos Medical Society for students who will be enrolled in medical school in fall 2018.

Students are eligible to apply if they are residents of Los Alamos County or Rio Arriba counties, or have spent the majority of their lives as residents of Los Alamos or Rio Arriba Counties.
