North Central Regional Transit District Expands Demand And Paratransit Service As Part Of NMDOT Pilot Program Monday

NCRTD News:

The North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) will launch expanded demand and paratransit operations in northern Santa Fe County and areas surrounding Taos beginning Monday, Jan. 25.

In Española, demand service is offered within a 15-mile radius from the Española Transit Center (on Paseo de Oñate), within Rio Arriba County only. This now allows the District to service sections of Santa Fe County within that 15-mile radius as well.

County Services And Facilities On 2-Hour Delayed Opening

Los Alamos County services and facilities are on a 2-hour delayed opening today due to continuing heavy snowfall.

Facilities will open at 10 a.m. today.

Roads around the County are slick and icy; County crews are working to clear streets as soon as possible.

On The Job: ‘Challenge: Tomorrow’ Traveling Trailer Team

On the job Thursday are members of Los Alamos National Laboratory’s ‘Challenge: Tomorrow’ Traveling Trailer Team from the Bradbury Science Museum. The team gathered in a local driveway to mock up the layout of their trailers. From left, Stacy Baker, Jonathan Creel, Jennifer Cline and BSM Director Linda Deck. They are developing two trailers in which to travel to festivals, STEM events and schools and universities around New Mexico. The trailers will carry experiential components that Lab staff will use to help people understand what LANL scientists are working on to make a better tomorrow. Read More

Santa Fe National Forest Issues Seasonal Closure Order For Forest Roads That Cross Abiquiu Land Grant

SANTA FE – The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) has issued a closure order for the entire length of Forest Road (FR) 418 and the segments of Forest Roads (FR) 31 and 27 that cross the Abiquiu Land Grant on the Española Ranger District.

The closure order, which is in effect through March 31, 2021, unless it is rescinded earlier, is intended to protect SFNF and Abiquiu Land Grant resources, including roads, soils and vegetation, that could be damaged by use during the wet winter season.
