SFCC Offers ESL Classes At Many Locations

Do you want to learn English as a Second Language? Whether you speak no English at all, or if you know a little or a lot of English, we have classes for you!
 
Santa Fe Community College will offer English as a Second Language courses to any adult who wants to learn English. New students must attend an orientation session prior to registration. The orientation session will include testing and placement as well as registration for the courses. The registration fee of $25 can be applied to more than one course and includes all class materials.

NHCC To Host Free Workshops About Story, Music And Opera Of ‘María de Buenos Aires’

ALBUQUERQUE At 5:30 p.m., Jan. 23, Jan. 30 and Feb. 5, the National Hispanoc Cultural Center (NHCC) will hold three free Inside Opera: María de Buenos Aires workshops.
 
The workshops, led by Oliver Prezant and Valerie Martínez, will talk about the story/libretto, music and opera of María de Buenos Aires, which will be presented Feb. 17-24 by Opera Southwest and the NHCC. Those who attend all three workshops receive a 50 percent discount on tickets to the opera.

LAS CRUCES Rep. Angelica Rubio of New Mexico House Dist. 35 began her near 300-mile bicycle ride Friday from Las Cruces to Santa Fe.
 
Rubio left from Klein Park in the historic Mesquite District. The send-off included a blessing from members of the Piro Manso-Tiwa Indian Tribe del Pueblo de San Juan de Guadalupe.
