The American Statistical Association (ASA) supports the conclusion of the 2020 census citizenship question debate, as the President announced in a White House news conference this evening that the administration will not further pursue its efforts to include the question on the form.
 
This decision puts at ease the most immediate threat to the data integrity of the 2020 census. However, the ASA emphasizes there is still much work to be done.

IG Report Clears RCLC And DOE Employees Of Accepting Inappropriate Gifts

A U.S. Department of Energy Inspector General’s report released July 2 has found “no evidence” that DOE employees inappropriately accepted meals or tickets to a Major League Baseball game purchased by the Regional Coalition of LANL Communities (RCLC). The report also states that a separate inspection is underway over RCLC’s use of grant funds.

Land Office Revenue To Surpass $1 Billion In FY-19

SANTA FE The New Mexico State Land Office received more revenue from business activity in fiscal year 2019 than any year before.
 
Conservative year-end estimates show revenue on track to surpass $1 billion. Given the nature of royalty payment collection, the exact royalty revenue amounts received will not be available until the Fall.
 
Even with the most conservative projections for the last three months of the fiscal year, 2019 revenue is projected to be approximately $1,110,000,000. In fiscal year 2018, Land Office revenue reached $852 million.
