SANTA FE Santa Fe Community College’s Visual Arts Gallery presents the exhibition, “Odd Nature,” which opens with a reception 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13. The show continues through Oct. 10.

New Mexico Human Services Department Reaches Settlement With Two More Behavioral Health Providers

SANTA FE The New Mexico Human Services Department has reached settlement agreements with two more behavioral health organizations to whom Medicaid payments were frozen in 2013 by the Martinez administration. Settlement agreements were reached with:
  • TeamBuilders Counseling Services, Inc.; and
  • Counseling Associates, Inc.
 
Last month HSD announced it had settled with:
  • Hogares, Inc;
  • Valencia Counseling Services, Inc.; and
  • The Counseling Center, Inc.

ALBUQUERQUE The Air Force Research Laboratory Tech Engagement Office honored AFRL scientists and engineers who are moving technology out of the laboratory into industry for commercialization purposes.
 
This was the second year for the AFRL New Mexico Innovation Awards event. It was held Aug. 9 at the University of New Mexico Science and Technology Park where AFRL in partnership with UNM now occupies more than 3,000 square feet of office and innovation laboratory space.

SFNF: Managers Plan More Activity On Cueva Fire

SFNF News:

SANTA FE – A drying trend and increase in fire behavior have given fire managers on the Coyote Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) an opportunity to add additional acres to the Cueva Fire by using aerial ignitions to consume unburned fuels within the planning unit.

Crews from New Mexico State Forestry will continue to work on securing the fire perimeter.

Forest Stewards Youth Corps Fall 2019: Fire And Fuels Program Kick-Off

SANTA FE The Forest Stewards Guild’s Forest Stewards Youth Corps (FSYC) Fall Fire and Fuels program kicked-off the 2019 field season with a crew member training.
 
Sixteen FSYC crew members ages, 18 to 25, attended the three-day training Aug. 19-23, at Cottonwood Gulch Foundation’s basecamp in Thoreau, N.M. The two crews are now spend the following 11-weeks working on U.S Forest Service (USFS) lands and learning from USFS specialists.
