SANTA FE – An emergency declaration requested by the mayor of Gallup and authorized by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has been extended through noon, Thursday, May 7, per the mayor’s request.

The action is intended to continue the aggressive physical distancing in the community and thus mitigate transmission of COVID-19.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced this afternoon 186 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County remains at 6 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update includes 5 additional deaths related to COVID-19.

HU Receives NSF Grant Targeting STEM Students

LAS VEGAS, NM — Life sciences students at New Mexico Highlands University will receive new services early in their education, like culturally relevant teaching and more research opportunities, aimed at helping them persist and graduate thanks to a $1.8 million National Science Foundation grant.
