Los Alamos High School Football C-Team Wins Again

Coach Marco V. Lucero reports that Monday Sept. 17, the Los Alamos High School Hilltoppers Football C-team traveled to Moriarty to take on the Pintos. Despite the the fact that the Toppers lost their first string quarterback in the beginning of the third quarter, the Toppers went on to win 40-20. Cory Schramm went out with a head injury. Topper running back Marcos Vigil led all scorers with four touchdowns. Lane Saunders had two touchdowns to his credit. The defense also showed up and had tree turnovers. KinderHoops Basketball Registration Closes Sept. 28


Registration for KinderHoops Basketball is open until Sept. 28 at the Family YMCA.

This is an introductory basketball program for boys and girls ages four to six.

Practices and games will be twice a week Oct. 8 to Nov. 16 in Los Alamos and White Rock.

Players will learn basketball basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, and the joy of the game from volunteer parent/coaches.

LAHS Fall Golf Invitational Draws 16 Schools

The Los Alamos High School Fall Golf Invitational included 115 golfers from 16 different schools.

The LAHS girls golf team earned its first state qualifying leg of the 2012/2013 season. Three qualifying legs are required to get to state. It’s a good position to be with 11 tournaments to compete in between now and next April, said Coach Mike Lippiatt, adding that the team only needs two more qualifiers. Local Teen Whitewater Kayaker Wins the Colorado River Gore Canyon Race

Jessie Bohn, a senior at Los Alamos High School, was the youngest competitor and had the fastest time in the women’s kayak division in the Gore Canyon Race held on Aug. 18, 2012.

Jessie also had the fastest women’s time down the course and was awarded “Queen of Gore Race 2012”.

The Gore Canyon Race is held every August on the the Class IV-V Section of Gore Canyon on the Colorado River near Kremmling, Colorado.
