Due to weather, tomorrow’s guided hike with trail expert Craig Martin is rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19. This guided hike down Blue Dot Trail includes great views, interesting petroglyphs, natural springs, and 1,000 feet of elevation gain—all the climbing is on the return trip. Participants will enjoy great views, experience a variety of ecosystems, and get a workout!

SFNF Waives Fees In Honor Of Veterans Day

SANTA FE ― The Santa Fe National Forest will honor Veterans Day by waiving fees at many recreation sites and amenities Friday, Nov. 11.
 
Fees at all national forests and grasslands will be waived at many day-use sites, such as picnic grounds and developed trailheads, in cooperation with other federal agencies under the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act. Veterans Day is the last fee-free day for 2016.

Gallina WUI Prescribed Burn Planned On Coyote Ranger District

SANTA FE ― Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest expect to begin the previously announced Gallina wildland-urban interface (WUI) prescribed burn on the Coyote Ranger District today if conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts are favorable.

SANTA FE — It’s time to gear up for another season on the slopes!
 
The Santa Fe Ski Team is hosting its annual Ski Swap Friday, Oct. 28-29 at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center (GCCC) in Santa Fe.
 
The Santa Fe Ski team invites the public to participate in the event – drop off winter sport gear between noon and 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. There is a $2 concession fee and 20 percent of the sales benefit the Santa Fe Ski Team.
