DOE Issues Safety Assessments For Diesel-Operated Equipment Underground At WIPP

WIPP News:

The Office of Nuclear Safety and Environmental Assessments, within the U.S. Department of Energy’s independent Office of Enterprise Assessments (EA), recently issued reports following reviews conducted on the WIPP Recovery Plan for Operating Diesel Equipment with available underground airflows and the Conduct of Maintenance and associated planned program enhancements.

The onsite portions of the reviews were completed in October 2014.

LAMC To Permanently House Air Medical Helicopter

Patients at Los Alamos Medical Center (LAMC) in need of air transport to a hospital off the hill, will no longer have to wait for a helicopter to fly in from somewhere else. LAMC has contracted with Classic Air Medical, headquartered in Woods Cross, Utah to permanently house a medical air helicopter in Los Alamos. Youth Mental Health First Aid Class Jan. 10

Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church (TOTH) is once again offering a Youth Mental Health First Aid Class.

More Snow Likely Through Saturday Morning

A strong low pressure system is expected to bring another round of accumulating snow to much of New Mexico through Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service (NWS) predicts this low pressure system will continue to inch east toward New Mexico, bringing wintry precipitation to the southern and eastern tiers of the state as well as many central parts.

Significant snowfall accumulations of a few to several inches will impact many parts of New Mexico. Snow accumulations will begin tallying up in the late morning and into the afternoon for many central areas today. Read More
