Karyne Archuleta First Appearance Set For Jan. 18

COURT News:

Two Magistrate Court Judges, Judge Pat Casados and Judge Alexandra Naranjo, have recused themselves from a Los Alamos embezzlement case. Karyne Archuleta of Los Alamos is now scheduled for a first appearance Jan.18 before Judge Matthew S. Page.

A criminal summons was filed Dec. 5 charging Archuleta with embezzlement of more than $17,500 from her former employer, Annette Weyrauch, owner of Physical Therapy Plus in Los Alamos. NMSP Investigate Homicide Near Cuba

NMSP News:

New Mexico State Police officers were dispatched Dec. 16 to the Circle K in Cuba to perform a welfare check on an occupant of a pickup.   

In the pickup they found Kimsey Barboan, 33, of Cuba. Barboan appeared intoxicated and had a laceration across his forehead. Barboan told officers he had been assaulted by a group of unknown males. 

During the interaction officers noticed a baseball bat with blood on it as well as a rifle in the pickup. Barboan, was taken to Sandoval County Regional Hospital

Drugs And Paraphernalia Found On Local Inmate

A 30-year-old Fairview woman was charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession or use of drug paraphernalia after she was arrested Dec. 19 in the Los Alamos County Detention Center.

Following a search at the Detention Center, Melody Lopez was found to have in her bra two orange needle caps and the barrel and plunger part of a needle, both of which had been cut to be smaller in size than normal.

Plea Agreement Underway For Tabatha Jones

Tabatha Jones of White Rock waived her preliminary hearing Friday in Los Alamos Magistrate Court on a charge of embezzling more than $2,500 and less than $20,000 from the non-profit Los Alamos Youth Football and Cheerleading League (LAYFCL).

The charge is a third-degree felony, which carries a possible penalty of three years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine.

A man wearing a white Miami Dolphins baseball cap and a tan jacket robbed a bank Thursday in northwest Albuquerque.

 
The suspect is described as approximately 5’10” tall, with a medium build. He wore a white Miami Dolphins baseball cap, a tan jacket, sunglasses, dark gloves and a dark bandana over his face.
