The National Weather Service forecasts today’s high in Los Alamos near 39 with patchy freezing fog before 9 a.m. and a 40 percent chance of snow showers, possibly mixing with rain after noon, then gradually ending. The National Weather Service forecasts a winter storm arriving later tonight, bringing a wide variety of precipitation.
Snow levels will be low during the morning hours, but rise by early afternoon.
The highest snow accumulations will be found above 7,500 feet, and areas of freezing rain remain possible across the eastern plains during the morning and again at night.
New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible during the day and after 11 p.m. another 1 to 3 inches.
