Tuesdays at the Pond continues this week with The Nukeproofs performing at Ashley Pond Park. 
 
Los Alamos’ own Nukeproofs plays a hard-hitting mix of hardcore punk and rock n roll. Tuesdays at the Pond, a summer entertainment series, runs through Aug. 11. It brings a variety of entertainment acts to the Ashley Pond stage in downtown Los Alamos every Tuesday evening.

The Los Alamos Opera Guild is presenting a concert by apprentice singers from the Santa Fe Opera, 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 28 at the Los Alamos United Church, 2525 Canyon Road.

Apprentice singers Alexandra Razskazoff and Adrian Kramer will perform.

Razskazoff, soprano, from New Brighton, Minn., covers the Page in Rigoletto and Katie in Cold Mountain. Her BM is from Peabody Conservatory and her MM from Juilliard. For Julliard she was Countess Almaviva in Figaro and at Peabody she sang Abigail Williams in The Crucible, Blanche de la Forcce in Dialogues

The Olions will put on a talent show at the pond, a one act play, speeches, improv that the audience can participate in and more.

The life of John O’Hea Crosby, founder and animating spirit of the Santa Fe Opera, is a fascinating one.

In the book “A Vision of Voices,” author and music critic Craig Smith has written an in-depth portrait of that visionary man. Mesa Public Library’s Authors Speak Series at 7 p.m., June 25, in the Upstairs Rotunda at Mesa will feature Smith talking about his work.
