Shattered Silence Free Concert Aug. 28

MUSIC News:

This alternative rock band is touring from Houston through New Mexico to California. 
 
They recently played the Rock The Desert Festival in Midland, Texas where Los Alamos concert organizer, Phil Jacobson, was able to meet the band and see them play some great music. 
 
The show, organized by Infinity Squared Music, is 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at Victory Faith Church in Espanola, and is sponsored by White Rock Baptist Church. 
 
Come early for fun, games, prizes and more. Meet the band after the show. Donations for the band are appreciated.

Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband play a free Summer Concert Series gig at 7 p.m. tonight at Ashley Pond.  

“Ryan outplays the Devil,” promoter Russ Gordon said. “Expect bluegrass, rock and a little country thrown in. Ryan’s been touring since he was 10 years old. He is a born entertainer.”

Central Park Square Has Become ‘The Place To Be’

Crowds have been gathering all summer in Central Park Square as seen Thursday with a packed house inside the Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op that spills onto the patio. CPS Owner Philip Kunsberg has been strategic in the types of businesses he is attracting including Unquarked, The Wine Room and Rigoberto’s Mexican Restaurant. Live music is now heard coming from the bandstand outside the beer co-op and large metal sculptures by Los Alamos artist Richard Swenson and loaned pieces from the Shidoni Gallery add visual interest throughout Central Park Square. Tuesdays At The Pond Extended With The Silver Lines

Tuesdays at the Pond has extended the successful concert series schedule by one week to include The Silver Lines at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug.18.

The Silver Lines are an alternative rock band from Socorro, N.M., featuring Los Alamos resident and guitarist Matt Broomfield, drummer Nick Davis and bassist Greg Holmes. The three met in school at Socorro and are delighted to be playing at Ashley Pond.
