SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials announced this afternoon 115 additional positive tests for COVID-19.
The number of positive tests for COVID-19 in Los Alamos County remains at 6.
The update today also includes seven additional deaths in New Mexico related to COVID-19.
Per the New Mexico Department of Health, the most recent cases announced today include:

“Sew Many Masks” is a group of approximately 25 seamstresses who are providing much needed face masks to our healthcare providers and medical community during the COVID-19 crisis.
They have donated to Los Alamos Medical Center, MANNM, Los Alamos Family Practice, Trinity Urgent Care, The Children’s Clinic, Sombrillo Nursing Home, Aspen Ridge, Los Alamos Visiting Nurses, Los Alamos Fire Department and Los Alamos Police Department.

SANTA FE – State agencies are offering plenty of distractions for New Mexicans stuck at home for another weekend amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Crafts, concerts and kitchen chemistry are just a few of the activities the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs and the Tourism Department have prepared. Here’s a list of some of the things you can do this weekend – without leaving home:

The state of New Mexico has launched a portal with more COVID-19 data specific to positive cases and testing in the state.
The data dashboard includes county-by-county breakdowns of positive cases by age, gender and ethnicity. The portal also includes reporting about testing by county.
The state Department of Health has conducted extensive testing in Native American communities where clusters of illness have been identified, which at least in part explains the disproportionate share of the Native American population in the state’s total positive tests.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced people to spend more time at home, resulting in a lot less driving.
Car insurance companies are recognizing how these changes are affecting Americans and how they are driving. Less miles being driven means less accidents and less claims.
Just in the last week or so, several insurance companies have stated they will be refunding a portion of premiums back to consumers.
Here is a list of companies that I have seen offer refunds. There may be more or more to come, but as of this writing, the companies are:
Amparo Wulf wanted to make her daughter Margo’s 12th birthday special despite the ‘home town shut down’, so she conspired with 11 families to make the day grand. She dropped off baggies with crafts for friends to make colorful posters a week before the big day. On her birthday, Margo’s friends lined the street waving their posters, holding balloons and blowing whistles.
