State Applies For Federal Restaurant Assistance To Help New Mexico Eateries Increase Revenue During Pandemic

STATE News:

SANTA FE –The New Mexico Human Services Department has applied for federal approval to implement the Restaurant Meals Plan (RMP) as a means of continuing state assistance to businesses that have been impacted by the economic crisis sparked by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Restaurant Meals Plan is an addition to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and would grant New Mexico families and individuals who qualify for SNAP greater access to meals by allowing them to purchase prepared meals from participating New Mexico restaurants.

SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials have announced this afternoon 301 additional positive tests for COVID-19.

Los Alamos County remains at 17 cases that have tested positive for COVID-19.

Today’s update announces 7 additional deaths reported in New Mexico related to COVID-19.

The New Mexico Department of Health reported today the most recent cases:

  • 80 new cases in Bernalillo County
  • 21 new cases in Chaves County
  • 4 new cases in Cibola County
  • 15 new cases in Curry County

The Los Alamos Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Support Group hosts virtual meetings at 2 p.m. every Wednesday.

Through the PMD Alliance (Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Alliance), the group uses Zoom and has made it a secure site by requiring a password and using the “waiting room” function to let members in.

Workers In New Mexico Who Have Left Employment Due To Safety Concerns May Apply For Unemployment Benefits

ALBUQUERQUE — Several restaurants across New Mexico have continued dine-in services, which is in direct violation of the state Public Health Order and in doing so have endangered workers and customers.
