The League of Women Voters will have its monthly community event, Lunch with a Leader, at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 in Mesa Public Library.
Three speaksers are featured this month. Superintendent Kurt Steinhaus and School Board member Bill Hargraves will discuss the upcoming LAPS bond election and UNMLA CEO Cindy Rooney will explain their upcoming 1mil bond election.

Thursday, Oct. 13, a dozen parents with gifted children were gathered in the library of Los Alamos Middle School for a Support for the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) parent group. They were being led through a guided relaxation exercise because one of the biggest emotional challenges that gifted students face is learning how to deal with stress.

It’s not too late to sign up for the free parenting workshop taking place Saturday, Nov. 5 at UNM-Los Alamos.
The Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB) and UNM-Los Alamos are teaming up again to offer Parenting University: Tool Up for Parenting 2016. This workshop is designed to provide parents and caregivers with the practical information that they need to raise healthy and well-balanced children, learn about community resources, and interact with other families of school-aged children.
