The Los Alamos Rotary STARS have just released details of the menu for the 3rd Annual ¡Fiesta Los Alamos!

Blue Window Bistro is providing the food for this popular event that takes place 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 at Fuller Lodge.

Appetizers: Chips and Dip Bar

  • Homemade blue and white corn tortilla chips
  • Charred tomato salsa

VFW Auxiliary Fundraising Dinner 6 p.m. Friday

VFW Auxiliary News:

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary would like to invite the public for a pulled-pork sandwich fundraising dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18 at the VFW Post, 1793 Deacon St.

The dinner will be prepared by Smokin’ Bear BBQ and will consist of pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert. Proceeds will help support Veterans and other non-profit organizations.

Stop by the VFW and enjoy a great meal and help support the VFW Auxiliary in this great fundraising event. Tickets are available for purchase at the VFW or at the door on the day the of the event.

Julian Baier, the inbound Youth Exchange student sponsored this school year by the Rotary Club of Los Alamos, introduced himself to Rotary members at a recent meeting. Baier is from Neustift, a small village in Lower Austria (near Innsbruck). He enjoys gym, mountain biking, soccer, table tennis, and fishing and is interested in business, marketing and computers. Top 2017 County Fair Exhibit Winners

Exhibits ranging from finely sewn quilts to fruits and vegetables were exhibited during the County Fair.
 
This year, four individuals were awarded the “Best of the Best” award – a beautiful hand crafted glass dish created by local glass artist David F. Schuster. Claire Swinhoe, received the “Fiber Arts – Best of the Best Award” for her Alaska Quilt. Claire Swinhoe, received the “Culinary Arts – Best of the Best Award” for her Traditional English Cake.
