United Thrift Shop $6 Bag Sale Wednesday Sept. 13

UNITED THRIFT SHOP News:

The United Thrift Shop is holding a $6 bag sale Wednesday, Sept. 13 (excluding jewelry), inside the United Church of Los Alamos at 2525 Canyon Road.

The Thrift Shop is operated by the Women’s Christian Service Society. Donations accepted include gently used and clean clothes, linens, housewares, jewelry, shoes, toys and children’s books. Items not accepted include large appliances, furniture, books or VHS tapes. Donations may be dropped off any time at the bins near the door at the lower level of Craig Hall.

United Way Establishes Harvey Recovery Fund

ALEXANDRIA, VA  United Way Worldwide announced that it has established the United Way Harvey Recovery Fund, a national fund which will distribute 100 percent of donations for recovery in the affected areas, community by community, in the months and years ahead.
 
The fund will facilitate the donation process for United Way donors and partners who want to offer financial support to storm victims in Texas, Louisiana and the affected areas. 
 
The inaugural donation to this newly established fund was from the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation
