Lane Closures At All Diamond Intersections Nov. 17

Los Alamos, New Mexico—

The Los Alamos County Traffic Sign Crew will be installing “Yield to Pedestrian” signs on traffic signal arms  8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at the following intersections:

  • Diamond Drive at West Road (all traffic signals);
  • Diamond Drive at 38th Street and Arkansas (all traffic signals);
  • Diamond Drive at Trinity (all traffic signals);
  • Diamond Drive at Canyon Road (all traffic signals); and
  • Diamond Drive at Orange Street and Sandia (all traffic signals).

Account Set Up For Stabbing Victim Cory Kershner

COMMUNITY News: 

Cory Kershner, a member of this community was severely injured Nov. 3. He was trying to protect his girlfriend when he was stabbed multiple times in a brutal attack.

Kershner was air-lifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital to undergo emergency surgey. His prognosis is good but he is still hospitalized and in need of financial assistance. 

Donations are being accepted at New Mexico Bank & Trust, under “Cory Kershner The Recovery Fund”, to help with his financial needs.

UNM-LA Presents Gift To Pat Soran

At the UNM-Los Alamos Advisory Board meeting Nov. 13, UNM-LA CEO Dr. Cindy Rooney presented Advisory Board member Pat Soran with a ceramic vase created by instructor Barb Yarnell in appreciation for the ceremonial mace, which Soran provided to the college for the May 2017 graduation. Soran created the mace, incorporating a unique UNM-LA symbol provided by instructor Skip Canfield.
