DPU To Work On NM 502 And Airport Road

COUNTY News: 

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities announced that crews with its electric distribution division will begin construction activities on the northwest corner of N.M. 502 and Airport Road. 

Weather permitting, work will begin as soon as Monday, Dec. 4 and continue through Friday, Dec.15.

Working from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, crews will upgrade equipment in the area to improve electric reliability for the adjacent neighborhoods. The project footprint is limited to the inside of the curb and should have minimal impacts on traffic.

Community Invited To Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For 20th Street Extension Project

COUNTY News:

The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the completion of construction on the 20th Street Extension Project.

Los Alamos County will host the celebration at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at this newest portion of 20th Street south of Trinity Drive.

“We are extremely excited to complete this project and look forward to future economic development projects” Public Works Director Philo Shelton said.

Having pain in the knees and hips was bad enough but Jessica Kisiel received even more souring news from doctors.

 

Kisiel, a former resident of Los Alamos, said she was told she would need to cease any activity that caused her pain and that a hip replacement would be in her future. At the time Kisiel was a professional mountain biker “so that was quite devastating.”

Los Alamos Utility Water Main Tap And Service To Median Landscape Enhancement Begins Monday Dec. 4

COUNTY News:

Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities crews will begin working on the corner of 36th Street and Arizona Street, to run a water supply line for beautification of the median.  

The County Council aproved $18,000 in the FY18 budget for water service, site development and landscaping materials for this project. The water-wise design will include drip irrigation to the specific plantings and have the same theme that the existing medians in town now showcase.

Utility work is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, Dec. 4.
