The University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) now offers custom-branded clothing and gifts, featuring the UNM-LA logo, the UNM Lobo or the UNM Lobo paw print, in partnership with their online bookstore, MBS Direct.

A record nine Northern New Mexico Native American-–owned and –operated businesses have received a total of more than $50,000 in the 2018 grants from the Native American Venture Acceleration Fund.
 
The fund was created by Los Alamos National Laboratory operator Los Alamos National Security, LLC (LANS) and the Regional Development Corporation (RDC) to help the recipients create jobs, increase their revenue base and diversify the area economy.

SANTA FE  Santa Fe Community College will host public informational work-in-progress film screenings of a documentary that tells the story of the New Mexico’s role in the Battle of Glorieta during the American Civil War.

Trinity Site, the location where on July 16, 1945, the first man-made nuclear explosion was detonated, is open only twice a year, and the Los Alamos Historical Society is offering a guided tour to the site April 6-7 for the spring opening.

Retired school teacher Mrs. Magelssen will teach two beginning photography classes for 1st through 6th graders 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. on President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 19 at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
