Quality New Mexico Accepting Applications for 2012 NM Performance Excellence Awards

Quality New Mexico is accepting applications for the 2012 NM Performance Excellence Awards. The awards, which will be awarded next spring, include:

  • Piñon Recognition, commitmentto performance excellence
  • Roadrunner Recognition, progress toward performance excellence
  • Zia Award for Performance Excellence, best-in-class results

Organizations wishing to participate in the awards program must send in an intent to apply form by June 15. It can be obtained at  www.qualitynewmexico.org. 

Applications are due on July 20.

QUALITY NEW MEXICO News:

Quality New Mexico is accepting applications for the Board of Examiners through May 31.

Examiners are volunteers who, working in teams, review applications submitted to the New Mexico Performance Excellence Awards program, administered by Quality New Mexico.

The awards program recognizes New Mexico business, government, education, health care and nonprofit organizations for their commitment, progress, or achievement in performance excellence.

The program is modeled after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, using the same Baldrige Criteria for

Rumors that Smith’s in White Rock is closing down have escalated considerably over the last two weeks among customers and employees alike.

The panic seemed to reach a fever pitch Thursday with some customers vowing to circulate petitions asking everyone living in White Rock to boycott the Los Alamos store in protest.

Youth Set Record for Business Grant Applications

LACDC News:

Youth interested in starting a summer business this year have set a record for the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation’s annual Youth Business Grant Program (YBGP.)

This year, 25 youth have submitted applications to the program, including 14 applicants from Los Alamos, nine from Espanola and two from Pojoaque.

The YBGP provides grants of up to $400 to youth, ages 13-19, who want to experience the rewards of starting a summer business.

The program has provided more than 240 young entrepreneurs with grants since 1985.
