Canes Of Power Film Screening At MIAC Jan. 19

SANTA FE The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture (MIAC) announces a screening of the award-winning documentary, Canes of Power, at 1 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020.
 
The screening will be presented inside MIAC’s Kathryn O’Keeffe Theatre. 
 
Following the film, a Q&A session will be led by Dr. Matthew Martinez, MIAC’s deputy director, and associate producer of the film.

PAC 8 Offers Stop Motion Animation Classes In January

PAC 8 News:

PAC 8 will be offering classes in stop motion animation for students aged 9-12 years 2-4 p.m. Wednesdays in January.

Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are moved in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit motion when the series of frames is played back.

Students will be learning Dragonframe software, a program used in the making of “Coraline” and “Shaun the Sheep”. Read More

LACF Announces Creation Of Rosalie Heller Annual Memorial Lecture Endowment Fund

The Los Alamos Community Foundation announces the creation of the Rosalie Heller Annual Memorial Lecture Endowment Fund to financially help support the lecture series held annually by the Los Alamos Arts Council.

“To honor the many contributions Rosalie made to life in Los Alamos, most especially in music, I created the Rosalie Heller Annual Memorial Lecture Fund,” Rosalie’s husband Leon Heller said. “Its purpose is to help finance the lecture series with the same name held under the auspices of the Los Alamos Arts Council.”
