Suspects Arrested In NMSP Supervisor Shooting Case

NMSP News:

At about 9 a.m. today, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau with assistance from the New Mexico State Police Tactical Team, Auto Theft Unit, Crime Suppression Unit, the NMSP Aircraft Unit, and multiple assisting agencies executed a search warrant at 31 Juana Lane in McIntosh. 

During the execution of the search warrant, agents located Caleb Dustin Elledge, 24, and Alanna Martinez, 22.

Upon investigation, both Elledge and Martinez were determined to be the primary suspects in the shooting of the New Mexico State Police supervisor.

During the course of the investigation, it was revealed Elledge has a violent criminal history, which consists of multiple arrest warrants, Shooting at or from a Motor Vehicle (Great Bodily Harm), Aggravated Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer, Assault (Unlawful Acts, Threats or Conduct of a Household Member), Assault (Attempted Battery of a Household Member).

Caleb Dustin Elledge was charged with the following:

  • Assault with intent to commit a violent felony on a Peace Officer
  • Tampering with Evidence
  • Aggravated Battery on a Peace Officer (Great Bodily Harm)
  • Possession of a Firearm or a Destructive Device by a Felon
  • Criminal Damage to Property (Over $1,000) 

Alanna Martinez

Alanna Martinez was charged with the following:

  • Harboring or Aiding a Felon.

New Mexico State Police would like to thank the public for its support and anonymous tips leading to the apprehension and arrest of Elledge and Martinez.
