- LAHS’s ‘First Of The 21st’ Class Generates Several Local Entrepreneurs
Los Alamos native Delbert Romero Jr., is the man behind Sunrise Cleaning LLC. He launched his company in 2009 serves the Los Alamos and White Rock areas.
“They say you meet the nicest people in the mountains and I find that to be true,” Romero said. “Serving the community and getting to know people is the greatest thing about what I do.”
Romero specializes in commercial and residential cleaning services and also provides landscaping services. He cleans new properties for local Realtors and offers seniors discounts for snow removal.
The 34-year-old graduated in 2001 from Los Alamos High School as a member of the “First of the 21st” class. He spoke of several kids who attended LAHS with him who also now own their own business. Melissa Paternoster was a year behind him and now owns the Blue Window Bistro. Eric Garcia was in the class ahead of him and owns Home Run Pizza. He also went to high school with Dan Deschamp who owns High Desert Carpet Care, Patrick Mockler-Wood who owns the Pajarito Brew Pub and Float Los Alamos owner Carlos Casias who he ran varsity track with. Romero and Miguel Hoffman were classmates and Hoffman now owns Samurai Services (pruning, estate maintenance and dangerous tasks).
“It’s nice to see a lot of the homegrown kids I went to school with are now operating their own business,” Romero said. “It’s nice to see the progress of commerce in this county and it’s good to see hard work pays off.”
