ART News:

The Summer Arts & Crafts Fair is just 11 days away. Today Fuller Lodge Art Center is featuring Stephanie Hagelberg, a local tie-dye artist.

Hagelberg grew up in rural Minnesota, first tie dyeing in 4H, using Rit dyes. In 1985 she took a tie dyeing class in Minneapolis using Fiber Reactive Dyes, which she still uses today.

She said that she loves playing with color and has a collection of more than 60 shades for dyeing. A self-described “artisan”, Hagelberg specializes in practical crafts such as hand dyed wool, scarves and hats. Most of what she dyes is recycled material she has found at thrift stores.
