Students Create Get Well Cards For Injured Soldiers

Los Alamos teachers Rita Sanchez of Los Alamos Middle School and Sharon Jiron of Chamisa Elementary School have rallied their classes during this homecoming week, to provide get well cards to former Chamisa student Ezra Maes and two crew members now in Texas who are recovering from injuries sustained in a tank accident in Poland. Maes was a Chamisa student during his elementary years and has a long recovery ahead of him. Three manila envelopes full of cards were delivered to Maes this week, with enough for his crew members to receive envelopes of their own. The community is invited to drop off get well cards to a collection box available during business hours at the Betty Ehart Senior Center in Los Alamos.
