LAPD News:

The Los Alamos County Animal Shelter accepted a great deal of donations from the Los Alamos Online Learning Academy 2nd Grade class.

Teacher Kati Steinberg asked her 2nd graders what they could do to help make the world a better place. Her students decided that they wanted to help the animal shelter.

Donations were collected throughout the month of November. Donations raised include bags of food, treats, toys and $750.

Donations were dropped off by Steinberg, Daisy McCullough and Felix Fellenz on behalf of the 2nd grade class.

The students presented the donations to Animal Shelter Manager Paul Sena and Sgt. Daniel Roberts. Police Chief Dino Sgambellone said that he was impressed by the amount of donations the class was able to gather and knows this kind act would help grow a stronger community for the animals.

The Los Alamos Police Department was very thankful for the donations and appreciated the “thank you” card the class wrote for the officers.
