Sprick is an educational consultant and literacy expert. She will be presenting on scientifically-based reading instruction for preschool through 12th grade (and beyond).
Her presentation is appropriate for general education, special education and support staff members, parents, and community members. Please use this Zoom link to attend the presentation. The Zoom link will be active at the time of the presentation. Note that the presentation is open to the first 150 participants.
For some children, learning to read is as natural as breathing. For other children, reading is a magical mystery tour. For these often bright and articulate children, scientifically-based reading instruction makes a difference. Listen to students go from poor readers to confident readers and from discouraged to enthusiastic readers. Learn the do’s and don’ts of helping students who understand what is read to them but have difficulty reading on their own.
As an educational consultant, Sprick has provided training in literacy and academic supports for thousands of educators throughout the United States. As a former teacher, she is well respected for her ability to inspire educators and translate research into practice. As a literacy expert, she is the lead author of Read Well K-2 (an early reading program), The Third Quest (a reading intervention for adolescent readers), and The Parallel Universe (a tutorial in field testing). Sprick also is the author of “Pre-intervention 2: Assessing and Adjusting Academic Support” in Early-Stage Interventions.
