COUNTY News:

Acting Los Alamos County Manager Steven Lynne has risen to the top of the short list of three applicants vying for the County Manager position.

Passing muster during a community meet and greet event at Ashley Pond Park followed by a whirlwind of interviews, Lynne now enters the final step in the selection process.

Tuesday evening, County Council will vote to officially hire Lynne at its 6 p.m. meeting in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building.

Lynne has been serving as Acting County Manager since Harry Burgess retired in May after 10 years in the position.

Other items on the Council agenda include a presentation on the review and update of sections in Chapter 18 of the Los Alamos County Code.

This section of the code of the Code focuses on property maintenance nuisance standards and the compliance process to enforce those standards.

(Updated information): There also will be a public hearing to authorize increasing the loan amount for Otowi Well #2 Pump House and equipment and Otowi Well #4 motor control center. If approved, loan agreement DW-5456 will be modified to increase the original loan amount of $2,852,444.02 by $937,280, for a revised loan amount of $3,789,724.02.
