Steven C. Porter

Steven C. Porter of White Rock was arrested today and placed back in jail for violating the conditions of his release.

Los Alamos Police Commander Jason Wardlow Herrera confirmed today that Porter tampered with his court ordered electronic monitoring device meant to limit his movement to the radius of his property in Pajarito Acres.

Porter, 46, was initially arrested Sunday, Aug. 17 and charged with 20 drug-related counts. Two days later he went before Los Alamos Magistrate Judge Pat Casados. Casados set Porter’s bond at $102,000 and detailed the conditions of his release, which included his wearing the electronic monitoring device.

Wardlow Herrera said today that Porter is facing a new felony charge for tampering with the monitoring device.

The Los Alamos Daily Post will publish additional information on this case as soon as it becomes available.
