The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Farmington District is reopening the public call for nominations for five open positions on its Resource Advisory Council (RAC).
 
RACs provide advice and recommendations for the BLM to consider on a range of resource and land management issues. The BLM maintains 38 such chartered advisory committees located in the West. The Subway Director’s Cup is awarded annually to the top New Mexico Activities Association member schools in each classification based upon success in activities, athletics, and sportsmanship.

FBI: Former U.S. Border Patrol Agent Pleads Guilty

ALBUQUERQUE Jason Christopher Davis, 46, of Las Cruces, pled guilty Wednesday in Federal Court to a child pornography charge.
 
Davis entered the guilty plea under a plea agreement that recommends a 15-year prison sentence followed by 20 years of supervised release. Davis will also be required to register as a sex offender.
 
Davis was arrested in May 2018, on a criminal complaint charging him with receiving child pornography in April 2018, in Dona Ana County. According to the complaint, the Las Cruces Police Department executed a search warrant on an email account

Lisa Schutt, the Swiss youth exchange student hosted this school year by the Rotary Club of Los Alamos, answered questions following her recent Club presentation. Schutt’s parents and sister are involved in fields of medicine. Schutt is enjoying the local high school’s opportunities to take elective classes, which are not offered during her 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. school day at home. FBI: Zuni Pueblo Man Sentenced To Ten Years For 2nd Degree Murder Conviction

ALBUQUERQUE Patrick Walela, 33, a member and resident of Zuni Pueblo, was sentenced Wednesday to 120 months in prison for his conviction on a second-degree murder charge in Federal Court in Albuquerque. Walela will be on supervised release for three years after completing his prison sentence.
 
The FBI arrested Walela Dec. 29, 2017, on a criminal complaint charging him with second degree murder and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. The complaint alleged that Walela killed a 45-year-old Zuni Pueblo man and seriously injured a 52-year-old Zuni Pueblo man Dec.
