SANTA FE — The Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) Cabinet Secretary Sarah Cottrell Propst presented a proposed FY22 budget Thursday to the Legislative Finance Committee.

The proposed budget of $68,013,100 balances the reality of the state’s current economic situation with EMNRD’s statutory obligations and policy goals.

Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Taos County

NMSP News:

TAOS COUNTY — At approximately 6:05 p.m., Nov. 14, 2020, the New Mexico State Police investigated a crash in which a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Taos County.

The incident occurred on New Mexico Highway 285 around mile marker 384 near Tres Piedras. 

The initial investigation indicates Destry Walsh, 43, of Tres Piedras was in the middle a dark unlit roadway when he was struck by a passing vehicle.

Walsh sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.

The New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) has updated its daily Rapid Response COVID-19 Watchlist, which includes New Mexico places of employment that have had two or more rapid responses in the last 14 days.
