NMSP News:
PECOS — Saturday, Oct. 28, the New Mexico State Police (NMSP) Investigations Bureau was called to investigate 2 suspicious deaths at 94 North Main Street in Pecos, NM.
NMSP Investigations Bureau agents learned that Oct. 28 NMSP Communications received a call from a 17-year-old juvenile stating he heard gunshots inside his residence. With this information, NMSP officers arrived at the residence and observed a male and female deceased in the master bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds.
The male victim was identified as Thomas Bastien, 30, of Pecos. The female victim was identified as Renee Romero, 33, also of Pecos.
Agents later learned that Bastien and Romero had been involved in a verbal altercation in the early hours of the morning of Oct. 28 when the male juvenile heard gunshots coming from the bedroom. Both Bastien and Romero were pronounced deceased on scene by the Office of the Medical Investigator.
