YMCA News:
Applications for spring garden employment, due Feb. 20, as well as summer trail work, due March 20, are available at The Family YMCA for positions with the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC).
Two seasonal fulltime, expert trainers also are being hired to supervise the garden and trail crews at a wage of $14-$16 per hour. These training positions are not age restricted, but do require a high level of expertise.
Applications for crew members and leaders are restricted to New Mexico residents ages 14-25, who are unemployed at the time of hiring. Crew members are paid $10.25/hr. and crew leaders are paid $12.25/hr. Several part-time and fulltime YCC positions are available for these separate crews (garden crew and trail crew). A few part-time garden employees can work after school and on the weekends March 15 to Sept.15, with full-time hours expected during the summer. Trail employees will work June through Aug.10 in part-time and fulltime positions.
Applications, job descriptions and information for YCC crew and leaders are available at the Y, at http://laymca.org/ycc.shtml and at the Los Alamos and Espanola teen centers.
People interested in the trainer positions should complete the Y’s regular employment application at http://laymca.org/careers.shtml.
