Los Alamos Majors Division Baseball All-Stars Beat Espanola 17-6

Los Alamos Majors Division Baseball All-Stars beat Espanola 17-6, Thursday night, in game 2 of the New Mexico District 1 tournament held at Lucero Center in Espanola.

Fourteen of LA’s runs came in the last inning. Manager Dave Swavely stated that the best part about the night was the kids didn’t give up, they fought back while being down and every player contributed to the win.

Earlier in the evening Thursday, Santa Fe beat Pojoaque in game 1 of the tournament.

Play for Los Alamos resumes this evening when they take on Santa Fe National at 5:30 p.m. at Lucero Center in Espanola. Read More

Candia Is Top Predictor In Weekly Pace Race

Roxana Candia was the top predictor in the weekly pace race held on American Springs Road in the Jemez with a 1 second error off her prediction. 
 
Other accurate predictors were Marjorie Keilers at 6 seconds off, Laura Woodroffe with a 9 second differential as well as the best finisher on the 3 mile course at 22:38, Zachary Medin at 10 seconds off and the first male on the 3 mile course with a time of 23:05, and Esther Wermer recording a 18 second difference.

Old results from The Family YMCA’s Ed Griggs Memorial Golf Tournament, held Saturday, June 11, were inadvertently announced and are corrected here. The event drew 24 teams of 94 players on Saturday, June 11, to the Los Alamos Golf Course and netted $13,615 for Y program scholarships.
