LAHS Swim/Dive Results From Horsemen Invitational
SPORTS News:
The Los Alamos High School diving team competed Jan. 8 in the 2016 Horsemen Invitational at the Genoveva Chavez Community Center in Santa Fe. The swimming competition was delayed from Jan. 9 to Jan. 13 due to weather.
Both the LAHS Girls and Boys teams won.

Topper Boys’ Basketball Defeats Moriarty 43-40
That must have been some halftime speech! Thursday night the Topper boys’ basketball team played the Moriarty Fighting Pintos at Griffith Gymnasium. Moriarty has a strong team having defeated the Toppers by 55-44 Dec. 1.
However Coach Mike Kluk’s young charges (he starts four sophomores and one junior) are improving fast. Going into halftime the Toppers were down 16 to 20. Sophomore point guard, Antonio Trujillo had only 2 points in the first half and led the Toppers in a resurgent 3rd quarter. Trujillo ended as leading scorer with 11 points.

Topper Girls Defeat Taos 79–47 Tuesday Night

Topper Girls defeated Taos 79–47 Tuesday night.
guard Kayla Salazar came out on fire against the Taos Tigers. She had 17 points in the first 10 minutes of play leading the Toppers to a 23-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Salazar ended the evening with 31 points to lead the Toppers in scoring and had 5 three pointers.

Topper Boys’ Basketball Team Cast Aside ‘Mythical’ Status
Last Saturday, two months after their first practice, Coach Mike Kluk’s Topper boys’ basketball team cast aside their “mythical” status and got to make their first appearance before the home faithful.
The 17th ranked Toppers fell to the 10th ranked Belen Eagles 70 to 50. The Eagles were smoking hot coming out of the gate leading the Toppers 26 to 10 after the first quarter.
