Hilltopper Girls’ Basketball Wins Against Spartans 76-21

What happens when an irresistible force meets a very moveable object? Last Tuesday evening on senior night the 18-6 Hilltopper girls’ basketball team cut through the 1-21 Bernalillo Spartans like a knife through hot butter.

Led by senior Ashlynn Trujillo with 17 first half points Toppers led by 58-13 at halftime! New Mexico Activities Association rules preclude the use of a “running clock” before halftime.

The 2016 Los Alamos Senior Olympics is April 15 through May 14 throughout the County.
 
Registration forms will be available at the Los Alamos Family YMCA March 1 through March 31. Anyone 50 years of age this year or older is invited to participate in the games.

Senate Passes Bill To Protect Young Athletes From Brain Injuries

STATE News:
 
The State Senate passed a bill Saturday that expands guidelines for treating head injuries suffered by student athletes by lengthening the rest period after a suspected concussion, and calls for these procedures to cover non-school related youth athletic programs.
 
Senate Bill 137 (SB 137), Student Athlete Brain Injury Protocols, which passed the Senate on a 35-4 vote, amends the protocols that were enacted in 2010.
