Cinema Cindy Reviews ‘Race’

 “Race” is a new film about the African-American Olympic athlete Jesse Owens, once called the “fastest man on earth.”
 
The film covers Jesse’s college years when he broke several records in track, his qualifying for the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, and the U.S. Olympic Committee’s debate and vote over whether the U.S. should participate in an Olympics hosted by the Nazis.

Los Alamos Hilltoppers narrowly lost against the Santa Fe High Demons Tuesday in a home game. In the first inning, the guests scored two runs. The top of the second ended with the guests dropping the ball trying to get #7 (Jarret Genero) out, but a bad call was made and Genero was the third out, ending that first half.

In the top of the second, #2 (Jake Rutten) pitched a fastball, and Santa Fe made a home run.

A Los Alamos team sponsored by Bathtub Row Brewing is competing iat 7 a.m., Sunday in the Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range.
