Snow Top Predictor In Opening Race Of Atomic City Road Runners 43rd Season

Mary Snow was only 7 seconds off her predicted time in the first pace race of the season held on the Canyon Rim Trail. Other accurate predictors were Duane Marr with an 18 second differential, Zach Medin at 28 seconds off, and Lynn Bjorklund recording a 31 second difference.
 
In the 1 mile race Tamara Jurado was the top finisher with a 10:30 time. Brothers Anders Medin at age six and Adrian Medin, age five recorded 13:47 and 14:14 respectively for best male finishers.

Los Alamos Football Club Celtic Battle To 2-2 Tie

In the fourth week of Duke City Soccer League action, the U14 coed LAFC Celtic had another great performance that resulted in a 2-2 tie against the Albuquerque’s Boys U14 AYSO Venom. 

Playing with no subs, the Celtic were able to score two goals then survive a ferocious attempt at a comeback from the Venom. The Venom are ranked above the Celtic and had beaten the Celtic twice last Fall. The Celtic had to make some significant adjustments in positions with a completely new defensive line.

Los Alamos Lightning U13 Girls Soccer Team Plays To Draw

The third week of action in the Duke City Soccer League found the girls Under-13 LAFC Lightning playing the Elite FC Crush to a tightly contested 1-1 draw.

A highly competitive, back-and-forth game saw the Lightning tie it up mid-way through the second half after a beautiful run from midfielder Hannah Gram resulted in a cross to Sage Wilcox who buried it in the back of the net from six yards out. Hanna Gartz was a game changer at the striker position, giving the Lightning numerous great runs with a couple of shots on goal.

Registration Underway For Valles Caldera Runs April 23

SPORTS News:

Registration is open for the Valles Caldera Runs set for April 23.

The event includes 10k, half marathon, and marathon distance runs on dirt roads and trails in the Valles Caldera National Preserve.

All runs start and end at the Banco Bonita staging area. The runs are limited to 350 total participants. Note: NO registrations can be accepted on the day of race!
