Bjorklund Is Top Predictor In Weekly Pace Race

ACRR News:
Heidi Bjorklund was only 5 seconds off her predicated time in the weekly Atomic City Road Runners Pace Race on the pollution plant service road at the bottom of Main Hill.
Other accurate predictors were Sonja Behnke and Allison Chan tying at 8 seconds off, Lyle Cunningham with a 15 second differential, and Roxana Candia at 25 seconds off her predicated time.
On the 1 mile distance Tamara Jurado was the top finisher at 9:51 and six year old Anders Medin was the first male with a time of 11:05.
The top 3 mile finishers were Zach Medin recording a 23:16 and his wife Roxana Candia

The LAHS Boys Tennis team participated in the Albuquerque Academy Tennis Invite April 7-9.
The Boys competed in the red group consisting of Albuquerque Academy, Bosque High School, and Piedra Vista. LAHS Boys played all three teams at best of nine matches including six singles and three doubles teams.
Results:
1st Round: LAHS Def. Piedra Vista 6-3
2nd Round: LAHS Def. Bosque 8-1
3rd Round: LAHS lost to AA 0-9
4th Round: LAHS Def. St. Mikes 5-4

SPORTS News:
Saturday’s weather was not ideal for the Capital City Invite at Santa Fe High School but Coach Steven Montoya said that Los Alamos track and field athletes did a great job not letting that bother them.
Although the Hilltoppers did not have any new state qualifiers, Liam Johnson did improve his season best in the pole vault to 13’04”. This is the second meet this season that Los Alamos has finished in first place.
