Weekly Fishing Report: June 1, 2021

One of the results of the COVID-19 pandemic appears to be an increase in the fishing pressure, especially on our trout streams and lakes. It appears that this is not just limited to New Mexico, but is happening nationwide. The pressure on our fishing resources has increased dramatically.

Our State Game and Fish Department stocks thousands of trout every week to try to satisfy the demand. There are limits to how much stocking thousands of hatchery fish can do. For a lot of anglers, catching their limit of five fish-fish –per-day is the goal. Read More

The Los Alamos High School Topper Girls and Boys Track & Field Teams competed in the Capital City Invite at Santa Fe High School Thursday afternoon in a very successful meet.

The Topper boys accumulated 174 points for first place, Bernalillo came in second with 83 points.

Local golfer Diana Reiner made a Hole in One Wednesday, May 26 on Hole # 6 – 117 yards, using a Club #7 Hybrid, at the Los Alamos County Golf Course.

The Los Alamos High School Toppers Baseball Team was on the road Wednesday to play against the Taos Tigers and nailing its 4th in-District win.

Taylor Drake had a great start on the mound, surrendering only two runs and striking out 13 Tiger batters.
